Sofia Vergara and their husband Joe Manganiello, one of Hollywood’s most loved couples are getting a divorce after seven years of marriage.
The couple confirmed the news on Monday through a statement issued by both their representatives
The statement read: “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for the respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
How Did Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello Meet
The couple first met in 2014 at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner and at the time, Sofia was engaged to Nick Loeb but broke up with Nick a few weeks after meeting Joe. After the breakup, the duo officially began dating in August of that same year.
Joe later proposed to Sofia in December of the same year, on vacation in Hawaii during the Christmas holidays. The couple tied the knot a year later in a lavish Palm Beach wedding in November 2015.
The couple doesn’t have any children together, but Vergara has a 31-year-old son from a previous marriage.
News of their divorce comes as Vergara recently celebrated her birthday while holidaying in Italy. She has been seen flaunting her bikini body in images and reels posted on Instagram Instagram account.
She captioned some images of her holiday on the Amalfi Coast where she was seen flaunting her body on her beach wear…“Last days of vacation! Even when u r so hot I love u Ravello!!!”
She received praise from her many fans praised, with their many sweet comments on the actress’s Instagram post, alongside the sweet comments, some fans didn’t hesitate to express their disbelief concerning the recent news. A fan wrote “Sofía please tell me it’s not true and you and Joe are still together 😭😭 I’m crying over here!!!💔😭” while another chipped, ” They ask for privacy at this time, yet all this posting? I’m sorry to hear this. I hate to see a marriage fall apart.”
Although sharing posts from her trip on Instagram, Manganiello was noticeably absent from any photos she posted.
