
The world of soap operas has lost a rare gem as American soap star Andrea Evans has died after a valiant battle with breast cancer at the age of 66.
The news of her demise was confirmed by Evans’ manager, Nick Leicht who noted that she died on Sunday at her home in Pasadena, California as a result of the illness.
“I’ve been working with Andrea for the past seven years, she was such a tremendous talent and an absolute joy to work with”, Leicht said.
Andrea Evans was born on June 18, 1957, in Aurora, Illinois. and from a very tender age, she displayed a tremendous natural talent for acting which fueled her passion to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
She came into limelight from 1979 to 1981 when she landed the role of Tina Lord on the popular ABC’s “One Life to Live.” Her captivating portrayal of the character quickly won the hearts of viewers and propelled her to fame and recognition.
Her remarkable is display of character and talent on-screen has definitely left her mark in the soap opera hall of fame. She as also feature in other remarkable soap operas aside the “One Life to Live,” which include “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless.” Her ability to captivate audiences with emotionally charged performances earned her a critical acclaimed and dedicated fan base.
Evans’ excellent delivery on the character “Tina Lord” in “One Life to Live” remains one of her most remarkable roles. The character’s compelling roles, including her enigmatic romantic scenes with co-actor Cord Roberts, captured the attention of soap opera enthusiasts worldwide and had them glued to thier screens.
